Stop the scam before the page loads. ReSafe checks every page you open and stops the scam before it loads. It recognises known phishing and scam sites, fake CAPTCHA and copy-paste "ClickFix" traps, tech-support scares, fake update prompts and crypto lures - and blocks or warns as the page arrives, not after you have already typed something into it. Everything it stops is written down in your ReSafe account in plain language, so you have a record of what was blocked and when, instead of a warning that disappears. HOW IT WORKS • Install ReSafe and pin it to your toolbar • Sign in and connect this browser to your free ReSafe account • Run a quick security checkup to see what this browser can tell you about your risk • Browse normally - a known scam site is replaced with a block page, and a dangerous page gets a warning card over it WHAT'S INCLUDED With every ReSafe account: • Site reputation. Every site you open is checked before the page loads, apart from a built-in list of sites ReSafe deliberately never sends - banks, webmail, search engines and a number of major services. A known scam or phishing site is replaced with a full-page block instead of loading. • Scam page inspection. Fake CAPTCHA and copy-paste "ClickFix" traps, tech-support scares, fake update prompts and crypto lures are recognised as the page settles, and the dangerous ones put a warning card over the page. • Form checks. A password asked for over an unencrypted connection warns you on the page. A password form posting somewhere odd, or card fields on a checkout that is not the merchant's, are recognised but not warned about - on their own they are ordinary enough on real sites that a warning would be wrong more often than right. • Check a link before you open it. Right-click any link and choose "Check this link with ReSafe". The address is checked without opening it and the answer arrives as a notification, so you are not taken away from what you were reading. A link pointing to a site on the never-sent list above is not checked, and ReSafe tells you that rather than guessing. • Security checkup. When you run a checkup from your ReSafe account, this browser answers what only it can: how many risky sites you have open, and how many of those sites can already send you pop-ups. Counts only - never the name of a site. • One record. Every block and every warning from this browser appears in your ReSafe account, so what happened is still there when you go looking for it. Depending on your ReSafe plan: • Search-hijack correction. When a search provider you did not choose has been substituted for your own, the search is corrected and your search term carried across. • Notification screening. A site asking to send notifications is checked before Chrome's own prompt appears. • Download inspection. A finished download whose name and type match a known malware delivery pattern is flagged. This one also needs permission to see your downloads, which you grant from ReSafe's options page and can withdraw there at any time. ONE ACCOUNT Your ReSafe account is where this browser reports, and it watches more than the browser. • In this browser: scam and phishing sites blocked before they load, and dangerous pages flagged as they settle. • Data leak monitoring: the email addresses you add are watched, and you are told when one of them turns up in a breach. WHY RESAFE ReSafe does not just block a page and leave you guessing. Every block and every warning is recorded in your account in plain language - what was stopped and when - so you can see where your risk actually is, with no security knowledge required. ReSafe is not an antivirus. It does not scan your device, inspect files already on it, or remove anything. It works on the web, which is where the scams reach you. WHAT YOU NEED ReSafe requires a ReSafe account, which is free to create. The extension does nothing until you sign in and connect it to one - there is no anonymous mode, and an unconnected install checks no page.
