JMeter Script Recorder is a Chrome extension for QA engineers, performance testers, and developers who need to convert browser traffic into Apache JMeter test plans. The extension records browser network activity during a user-initiated recording session and generates performance-test-ready JMeter (.jmx) scripts. It helps reduce the manual effort required to recreate browser flows in JMeter by capturing requests, headers, query parameters, request bodies, response status codes, timings, redirects, cookies, and transaction groupings. Key features: - Start, pause, resume, stop, and reset recording sessions - Floating REC control while recording - Capture XHR, fetch, document, and other selected request types - Inspect captured requests, headers, query parameters, bodies, cookies, status codes, and timings - Automatically group requests into transactions - Detect duplicate requests - Detect dynamic values, reusable inputs, correlation candidates, and parameterization candidates - Export Standard JMX, Modular JMX, and Environment-aware JMX scripts - Export raw session JSON for review or backup - Store recordings locally in the browser using IndexedDB and chrome.storage - Configure filters to include/exclude domains, URLs, request types, static assets, and analytics traffic - Generate scripts locally without sending recorded traffic to any external server The extension is intended for authorized testing of applications you own, manage, or have permission to test. Recorded sessions may contain sensitive request data such as cookies, tokens, headers, request bodies, or response samples, depending on the application being tested. All processing is performed locally in the browser.
