Overview

The PDF reader for scientific papers: search formulas as you type them, copy them as LaTeX, peek at links. Fill and sign too.

Epsilon PDF viewer: the PDF reader made for scientific papers. ★ SEARCH FORMULAS, NOT JUST WORDS Type a formula into the find bar, in LaTeX (\alpha_1) or plain (alpha_1). Epsilon finds every place it appears, however the authors typed it, and highlights exactly its symbols. ★ PEEK AT ANY LINK WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PLACE A link to an equation, figure, section or citation opens in a panel below, its target marked. Your page stays where it is. Cmd/Ctrl + click a link to peek. ★ SELECT BY FORMULA, COPY AS LATEX The selection follows the formula's structure: drag into a fraction or a bracket and it is taken whole. Copy, and you get LaTeX, ready for your notes or your next paper. ★ MOVE THROUGH THE PAPER, AND BACK The outline shows every section, the one you are reading marked. Jump to any of them; Back takes you to where you were. ★ WORKS WITH EVERY JOURNAL Whoever the publisher, Epsilon reads the formulas in its papers: search them, select them, copy them. ★ EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT FROM A PDF READER • Any PDF, on the web or on your computer • Highlight the passages that matter • Add text anywhere on the page • Draw, freehand, on any page • Sign: type, draw or upload your signature • Fill in forms, right in the viewer • Print it, or save a copy • Presentation mode: full screen, page by page • Your look: Epsilon's or Chrome's, in light or dark ★ YOUR PAPERS STAY WITH YOU Everything runs in your browser. No account, no analytics, nothing sent anywhere. Built on PDF.js (Apache License 2.0). Not made by or affiliated with Mozilla. ★ WHAT'S NEW 1.4.5 • Fraction bars, roots and overlines read by the fonts' own layout rules: about 20% fewer equations missed • APS journals and matplotlib figure labels read as they are set; equations with words in them read whole • Accents and bars over letters read right in more fonts, and accented words copy as they read (Kähler) • Books get their chapters in the outline, and a figure link opens with the whole figure in view 1.4.4 • Text selects as in Chrome; Epsilon steps in only at formulas, and scanned papers select their text • Displays with words read whole, words keep their spaces when copied, and older plain TeX papers read better • More headings in generated outlines, and old arXiv papers show their real title 1.4.3 • Links where the PDF has none: sections, equations, figures, citations and the contents, with Cmd/Ctrl+click for the peek • An outline and the paper's title for PDFs without them, before the formulas are read • Cases, wide accents and integral limits read right, so almost every copy compiles 1.4.2 • Select part of a matrix: drag from one cell to another for the block between them, copied as that submatrix and found again by search • Every standard symbol read as its LaTeX command, bold ones bold, in Computer Modern, Latin Modern and Times fonts • More matrices read by their cells, and cleaner copies of roots, accents and limits 1.4.1 • A triple click selects the whole sentence, or the whole formula • Search highlights cover only their own words • Ctrl + Shift + arrow keys step a word at a time on Windows and Linux • Accents copied as LaTeX accents 1.4 • Select by formula: a selection follows the formula's structure; drag into a bracket or a fraction and it is taken whole • Shift + arrow keys add one element at a time: a letter with its scripts, a whole fraction or bracket • Selections drawn as search highlights are: one band a line, one box round a formula; what is drawn is what is copied • "Select by formula" or "Select as text" in the ⋮ menu • Big brackets copied at their size, \left( … \right) • The toolbar icon as tall as Chrome's others
