Tab Limit

Set a firm tab limit across Chrome or separately for each window.

Enough tabs. More headspace. Tab Limit helps you keep new tabs under control with a maximum you choose. Choose how your limit works: • All windows together: share one limit across your regular Chrome windows. • Each window separately: give every regular window its own limit. • Include pinned tabs, or leave them out of the count. Pinned tabs are excluded by default. • Turn limiting on or off whenever you need to. Your existing tabs stay open when you enable limiting or change your settings. If you are already over your limit, only newly opened excess tabs close until you make room. Moving or unpinning an existing tab does not close it. When you reopen Chrome, Tab Limit pauses and asks whether to resume. Wait until Chrome has finished restoring your windows and tabs, then choose Resume tab limit. Choose Keep paused to leave new tabs unrestricted. Your limit and preferences stay saved. Important details: • Excess tabs close after they open, so a brief flash is possible. • If you include pinned tabs in the count, newly created pinned tabs above the limit can also close. • Limiting applies to regular windows in this Chrome profile. Incognito, popup windows and app windows are excluded. • Tab Limit does not restore browser sessions or recover closed tabs. Chrome controls session restoration. • Pause limiting before restoring additional closed tabs or windows with Chrome History. No account needed. No ads or analytics.
