HP Network Check Launcher

Yeah, if you have downloaded this extension already, i suggest removing it, if you haven't and are questioning whether you should, DON'T! Now I can't say for certain that this extension is the cause, but it's pretty strange how immediately after downloading it, my default browser continuously changes from "Google" to "Yahoo!" and every time I change it back to Google, it's not long before it's changed right back to Yahoo!.(If you're wondering, that means my laptop is infected with adware wh... Totally useless. The laptop keeps losing internet connection while other devices work well. This plugin does nothing, and can't diagnose anything.

How does this "allow you to launch Network Check directly from Chrome when internet access is not detected." I am seriously confused.
