Tintstep
Overview
Inspect styles on the page you're viewing. Copy colors, type, and spacing, then scan for palettes, assets, and contrast.
Tintstep is a color picker and CSS inspector for Chrome. Find the colors, font styles, and spacing behind a web page, then copy the values you need for your own work. See a heading you like? Inspect its font stack and size. Need a website's color palette? Scan the page and export it. Checking an implementation? Read an element's styles beside the page you're viewing. The tools below are free, with no account required and no daily usage limit. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Pick website colors: Inspect an element's text and background colors, then copy values in HEX, RGB, or HSL. • Inspect fonts and typography: Read computed font stacks, sizes, weights, line heights, and letter spacing. Copy a font stack to use in your CSS. • Inspect and copy CSS: Check margins, padding, gaps, borders, corner radii, and shadows. Copy individual values or a CSS snippet for the selected element. • Build a color palette: Scan the page for colors grouped by use. Export the palette as CSS, JSON, ASE, or Sketch palette files. • Find images and SVGs: Review detected page assets, choose which previews to load, and download the files you need. • Check text contrast: Review contrast ratios and WCAG AA results for supported text on solid backgrounds. Text over images or gradients is marked unscored. START WITH A PAGE YOU WANT TO INSPECT 1. Open a web page in desktop Chrome and open Tintstep. 2. Turn on Inspect and select an element to see its styles. 3. Copy a value, or scan the page to explore Colors, Type, Assets, and Contrast. YOUR PAGE DATA STAYS IN YOUR BROWSER Inspected page URLs, styles, and scan results are not sent to Wren Foundry. Optional account and license connections contact Tintstep's service. Asset previews and downloads contact the asset's original host. FREE TOOLS AND PRO EXPORTS All features listed above are free. Full computed-style JSON exports and page-report JSON exports require Pro. SUPPORTED PAGES Tintstep reads element styles on supported web pages. Chrome internal pages and the Chrome Web Store cannot be inspected. Embedded frames, closed shadow roots, and pseudo-elements are outside its scope. Font results show computed CSS stacks; contrast checks are not a complete accessibility audit. Add Tintstep to Chrome and copy the detail you came to find.
