Check social preview metadata in the current tab, then optionally test server configuration.

Check the social preview metadata of the page you are viewing before you share it. After you enable local checks, PreviewChecks reads social metadata from the document already open in the current tab. It shows how the link can appear on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and chat apps, and flags missing Open Graph metadata, duplicate tags, risky copy and platform-specific problems without requesting the page again or uploading page HTML. Choose Text checks to inspect the large social banner at common mobile widths. See separate text size and contrast results, adjust the app's left and right margins, and find text that may be too small or cropped. Text checks currently support English. The extension retrieves the selected banner through the secure PreviewChecks image proxy and analyzes it locally. Recognized text and the resulting report are not sent to a remote OCR or AI service. X summary mini-icon cards are excluded. When you need to diagnose delivery problems, choose Check server configuration. PreviewChecks then sends only the current page URL to its public API and reports HTTP responses, redirects, crawler-like access, preview image reachability, WAF or challenge risk and TLS support. What PreviewChecks does: - Shows a compact preview card, quick score and local issue count. - Checks Open Graph, X card, canonical, language and platform metadata locally. - Explains issues with actionable fixes and severity labels. - Checks English banner text size, contrast and cropping at mobile widths. - Runs an external server configuration check when you explicitly request it. Privacy by design: - The quick scan reads the document already open in the tab, makes no second page request and does not send page HTML to PreviewChecks. - Text checks currently support English and run OCR and measurements locally with packaged code. - When Text checks starts, the extension sends the selected preview image URL to https://previewchecks.com/api/v1/image; that proxy retrieves and returns the image bytes for local analysis. It does not send page HTML or use a remote AI service for OCR. - Local findings use session-only extension storage. - The server check is optional and sends only the current page URL after your click. It is separate from the image request used by Text checks. - The extension does not access browser history, cookies or downloads. PreviewChecks is a product of CoMStudio OÜ.
