Overview

Full-page workbench for Chrome bookmarks: search, bulk edit, duplicate finder, dead-link checker, tags, notes, backup.

Bookmark Workbench is a full-page workspace for your Chrome bookmarks. It opens in its own tab and gives you the search, bulk-editing, and cleanup tools that Chrome's built-in bookmark manager leaves out. It works directly on your real Chrome bookmarks — nothing to import, no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync. Every change is a normal Chrome bookmark change, and everything stays on your device. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Search every bookmark instantly by title, URL, folder, tag, or note • Sort by title, URL, domain, or date added • Work through a collapsible folder tree — filterable by name — with a count on every folder; create, rename, move, and delete folders • Add, edit, move, and delete bookmarks one at a time or hundreds at once — with one-step Undo for moves and deletes; a Fetch button reads a page's own title for you • Bookmark the current page or any link straight from Chrome's own right-click menu, without opening the workbench first; right-click rows and folders inside it for the same menu • Reorder bookmarks by drag-and-drop, or sort a folder once to write that order into Chrome itself • Navigate and act entirely from the keyboard: cursor movement, undo, and a shortcuts dialog (Alt+Shift+B opens the workbench from anywhere) • Find duplicate URLs: each duplicate shows where the other copies live, and one click keeps one and removes the rest, or clears a whole group with "Keep oldest, delete the rest" • Check every link for 404s and dead domains, then delete or re-file the broken ones in a single click (optional — it asks permission the moment you use it, never on install) • Attach tags and notes to any bookmark, stored locally on your device • Open an Overview of the whole collection — totals, your busiest domains, and a "needs attention" list (untagged, never checked, broken, duplicated, empty folders) where every row filters the list down to it, and empty folders can be cleared in one click • Bulk actions bar: move, tag, remove a tag, file into a new folder, or delete a whole selection at once • Back up your tags and notes to JSON, or export and import standard bookmarks HTML • Switch between light, dark, and system themes WHY INSTALL IT If you've collected bookmarks for years, the built-in manager makes cleanup painful: no real search, no bulk actions, no way to spot duplicates or dead links. Bookmark Workbench turns an afternoon of one-by-one editing into a few minutes of filtering, selecting, and clicking. PRIVACY No analytics. No external servers. No third-party code. The extension collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. The only permission that can reach the web — link checking — is optional and requested only when you click "Check links".
