Overview
Caption AI captures Google Meet subtitles and translates them in real time with AI.
Caption AI helps you follow multilingual Google Meet calls by capturing live meeting captions and translating them in real time. When captions are turned on during a Google Meet session, the extension reads the live subtitle text on the page and displays the translated version inside a movable panel right over your meeting window. You can read both the speaker's original words and the translated text side by side without leaving the call. Main capabilities: - Live subtitle translation across 21 supported languages during active Google Meet sessions. - Dual-language view showing both the original speech and the translated text for each speaker. - Automatic local transcript saving so you can review past conversations from the extension dashboard. - Meeting summaries that organize the discussion into main purpose, key takeaways, and action items. - Interactive transcript assistant that lets you ask follow-up questions about decisions, deadlines, or specific topics discussed in the meeting. - Personal API key connection so you can use your own account from your preferred AI service provider and choose the model speed and cost that fits your workflow. Privacy and data handling: Your meeting transcripts and API keys are stored locally in your browser using Chrome local storage and IndexedDB. The extension does not run its own backend server and does not collect or sell your conversation data. Subtitle text is sent only to the AI service endpoint that you configure in the settings page.
