PDF ⇄ TXT Converter turns PDF files into plain text and text files back into PDF. Everything happens right inside your browser: no uploads, no accounts, no waiting for a server. ★ PDF → TXT Pick a PDF (or drop it onto the window) and get a clean .txt file with the text of every page. Handy for copying quotes, feeding documents into other tools, searching, translating or just reading a PDF as plain text. ★ TXT → PDF Turn any .txt file into a neat A4 PDF: a title at the top, word wrap, page numbers and proper page breaks. The text encoding is detected automatically (UTF-8, UTF-16, Windows-1251, Windows-1252), so old files open correctly too. ★ Batch conversion 5 files maximum. Select or drop many files at once. You can mix PDFs and text files: each one is converted in the right direction and downloaded like any other file. ★ Private by design • Your files never leave your computer. Nothing is sent to any server. • Works offline once installed. • Requests no browser permissions: it cannot read your tabs, history or the websites you visit. ★ Simple to use 1. Click the extension icon in the toolbar. 2. Choose "PDF → TXT" or "TXT → PDF", or drop files onto the window. 3. The converted file is saved automatically. For large files, open the converter in a tab (the ↗ button) so the job keeps running while you do something else. ★ Good to know • Scanned PDFs (pictures of pages without a text layer) contain no text to extract. The extension tells you when that happens. • Password-protected PDFs are not supported. • Chinese, Japanese and Korean text is supported in created PDFs. Characters no bundled font can draw (such as emoji) are replaced with □, and you get a warning with their count. • Light and dark themes follow your system settings. • Interface in English and other languages.
