On the Range - Home Scoring
Overview
Score homes against your own criteria on Redfin, Zillow and Realtor.com, and see each score on the search results.
Score every home you tour against your own criteria, right inside Redfin, Zillow and Realtor.com. House hunting gets blurry fast. After a dozen listings, it’s hard to remember which one had the great yard and which one backed onto a highway. On the Range adds a simple scoring panel to the listing pages you already browse, so every home gets a score you defined, and you can see it again when you’re back on the search results. HOW IT WORKS Open a home on Redfin, Zillow or Realtor.com. A section called “On the Range - Home Scoring” appears on the listing page. Pick an answer for each of your criteria. Your score is the sum of the values you chose. Add a note, such as “Asked my realtor for disclosures” or “Needs a new roof.” Go back to the search results. Every home you’ve rated shows a small ★ score and your note right on its photo. WHAT YOU GET • Your criteria, not ours. Rename, add or remove criteria and options. Give options any value, including negative and decimal numbers, so deal-breakers can pull a score down. • Scores on the search results. Rated homes show their score and note on the listing card, so you can compare at a glance. Homes you haven’t rated are left alone. • One home, one score across sites. A home is matched by its street address, so the same house you rated on Redfin shows the same answers on Zillow and Realtor.com. Condos in the same building are told apart by unit number when the listing includes one. • Notes on every home, shown next to the score. • Export and import. Back up your criteria and all your ratings as a JSON file, or move them to another browser or computer. • Private by design. No account, no sign-up, nothing to log in to. FREE TO START, SIMPLE TO UNLOCK MORE • Score up to 5 homes for free. A home counts only after you answer a criterion or write a note, so just viewing a page doesn’t use a credit. • Need more? A one-time $2 purchase adds 5 more home credits, and purchases stack. • You get your license code by email. Paste it into the License box and press Activate. If you lose it, use “Email me my code.” • One code works in up to 3 browsers. • Your data is never taken away. Homes you’ve scored use 1 credit. Clearing a home’s answers frees its place. YOUR PRIVACY • Your criteria, scores and notes are stored only in your browser. They aren’t uploaded or synced anywhere. • The extension’s only network requests are license activation, a daily license re-check, and “Email me my code.” These send your license code, a random ID for this browser install, a browser name such as “Chrome,” and, only if you ask for your code to be re-sent, the email address you type. • Nothing about the listings you view, your scores, notes or criteria is ever sent to us or to anyone else. • The extension requests just two permissions: local storage, and access to the license server. WORKS WITH Chrome, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers. Supported sites: Redfin, Zillow and Realtor.com. GOOD TO KNOW • Real estate sites change their pages from time to time. If the panel can’t find its usual spot on a page, it appears as a floating panel in the bottom-right corner instead. • Some pages, such as Zillow’s Favorites list, link to homes without showing an address. Those homes are matched by the address on their card where possible. On the Range is an independent tool made by HitherLabs.
