Migrate AI assistant configurations between platforms

Switching AI assistants shouldn't mean starting from scratch. If you've built Custom GPTs, set up projects, saved memory items, or written custom instructions in ChatGPT, you know how much work goes into configuring an AI assistant to be useful. PortSmith moves all of that to Claude in minutes — so you can try a new platform without losing the setup you've already invested in. WHAT PORTSMITH MIGRATES PortSmith handles the parts of ChatGPT that are hardest to move manually: - Custom GPTs: name, description, system instructions, conversation starters, and knowledge file references - Projects: name, instructions, description, and attached file references - Memory: every saved memory item ChatGPT has learned about you - Custom instructions: both your "about you" and response preferences Each configuration is translated into Claude's format and organized into Claude Projects ready for use. HOW IT WORKS PortSmith runs entirely inside your browser — no servers, no accounts, no data leaves your device. 1. Extract: Open ChatGPT in one tab and PortSmith's side panel in another. PortSmith reads your configurations directly from the ChatGPT page — or you can upload a ChatGPT data export ZIP file. Either way, all parsing happens locally. 2. Review: PortSmith shows you everything it found: workspaces, memory items, knowledge files, and any compatibility notes. You can edit names, toggle items on or off, and see exactly what will be migrated before anything is created. 3. Migrate: Choose how PortSmith delivers your data into Claude. Autofill mode fills in forms for you automatically. Guided mode gives you step-by-step instructions to do it yourself. Hybrid mode auto-fills with your confirmation at each step. If autofill can't reach a field, PortSmith copies the text to your clipboard so you can paste it manually. After migration, PortSmith verifies that your new Claude projects were created successfully and gives you a summary of what was moved, what needs manual follow-up (like uploading knowledge files), and what features aren't available on Claude (like DALL-E image generation). PRIVACY FIRST PortSmith processes everything on your device: - No remote servers. The extension does not transmit your data anywhere. - No analytics or telemetry. There is no tracking of any kind. - No account required. You don't sign up for anything — just install and use. - No API keys needed. PortSmith uses rule-based translation, not AI models. (Optional LLM support for smarter translation is planned for a future version.) The only network activity is between your browser and the ChatGPT / Claude websites you're already logged into. PortSmith sits in the middle of your own browser tabs — it never phones home.
