On an Airbnb listing or a Booking.com property page, find the same stay or the closest ones on the property's own booking site.

Many holiday rentals on Airbnb, and many small hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses on Booking.com, also take bookings on their own websites. Booking there is often cheaper, because no platform fee is added, though not always: you always see the final price on the property's own site before you book. OTAless is the direct-booking channel for the agent era: it finds a stay on its property's own website and sends you there to book it. This extension brings it to the page you are already looking at. Open an Airbnb listing or a Booking.com property page and click the OTAless button. WHAT YOU SEE • The same stay. When the listing is on OTAless, you see it with the manager's name and why we think it is the same ("same place, same bedrooms, same name"), the signals that agreed, its lowest published rate beside the price the page shows, and when that was last checked on the manager's own page ("Checked on the manager's page 3 days ago"). Continue opens the stay on the manager's own site, where you pick your dates and see the real price. • The same property. On a Booking.com page for a hotel, B&B, inn or guesthouse, it looks for the same property on its own site and shows the room that fits best. Continue opens it on the property's own site. • The closest stays. When the same stay is not on OTAless, you see up to three close stays that can be booked direct, each marked "Close match" or "Possible match" with the reasons, and compared on the facts both pages list: distance, bedrooms, bathrooms, how many it sleeps, property type, kind of lodging, shared amenities and published rates. A close match whose lowest published rate is below the price the page shows comes first. Prices on OTAless are each manager's lowest published rate, not a quote for your dates. Availability and the final price are always the property's. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Nothing runs until you click the button, and then only on the tab you are looking at. • The first time, it shows exactly what will be sent and asks before anything is. • On an Airbnb listing it sends the listing's facts, once, to otaless.com: title, host name, location line and map position, property type, bedroom, bathroom and guest counts, amenity names, and the nightly price the page shows (when it shows one). Only if it cannot read where the listing is does it send the listing's visible text instead. It leaves out reviews, the host's profile, anything outside the listing's main content, anything typed into forms, lines that greet you by name, and e-mail addresses and phone numbers. • On a Booking.com property page it sends the property's facts, once: its name, its kind (hotel, B&B, guesthouse, villa, ...), its address line and map position, its facility names, and for a whole villa or apartment its size and how many it sleeps. Never the page's text, the review score, reviews, the Genius label, prices, or the dates and party in the search box. • With each lookup it sends the page's address without anything after the question mark (so not your dates, guests or search) and a random id made when the extension was installed, used only for rate limits. • It keeps nothing about the pages you look at or the answers, apart from what the optional setting below needs. OPTIONAL: CHECK LISTINGS AUTOMATICALLY (OFF BY DEFAULT) If you turn it on in the popup (Chrome asks you to allow access to Airbnb's and Booking.com's sites first), every Airbnb listing and Booking.com property page you open is looked up the same way without a click, at most once per listing every 10 minutes, and the button shows ✓ when the same stay or property can be booked direct. Each tab's answer is kept in your browser until it closes. Turn it off in the popup and the access is given back. NO FEE, NO COMMISSION You book and pay on the property's own website. OTAless takes no booking, no payment, no fee and no commission. What OTAless shows about a stay comes from the property's own website: its name, type, bedrooms, how many it sleeps, location, the manager's amenity list and published rates.
