Long conversations, multiple attachments, powerful models and high reasoning effort can dramatically increase quota usage. Until now, there has been no easy way to understand that cost before sending a message. Claude Cost Optimiser helps you make smarter decisions, reduce unnecessary quota usage, and get more value from every conversation. HOW IT WORKS When you send a message in Claude.ai using Google Chrome, the extension analyses your prompt locally within your browser before it is submitted. It considers factors including: - Prompt length - Conversation length - Attachments - Selected Claude model - Reasoning effort - Other prompt characteristics that influence quota usage It then displays an easy-to-understand estimate: - Negligible - Low - Medium - High - Very High - Extreme ...along with an approximate percentage of your available quota that the prompt is expected to consume. If a prompt looks expensive, Claude Cost Optimiser explains why and offers practical recommendations that can often reduce usage while maintaining similar output quality. Recommendations may include: - Switching to a more appropriate Claude model - Reducing reasoning effort where it provides little additional value - Splitting large requests into smaller prompts - Removing unnecessary prompt content Each recommendation includes an estimated saving so you can decide whether the trade-off is worthwhile.
