Toolbelt for ChatGPT
Overview
Handy tools for ChatGPT: conversation outline, message queue, bulk archive/delete of chats, image saving, smart copy. Runs locally.
Toolbelt adds a few handy tools to the ChatGPT website. Every tool works only on chatgpt.com, and each can be switched off in the extension's popup. Tools: • Image batch download: when one reply contains several images, pick and save the original files in one go • Conversation outline: an outline of your own questions (or of the replies' headings) in the current chat; click to jump, searchable • Bulk chat actions: tick several chats in the sidebar and archive or delete them together • Message queue: press Ctrl+Enter while ChatGPT is answering to queue your next message; it is sent when the answer finishes • Smart copy: copy a whole reply that has interactive cards or charts in one click, with the text as text and each interactive part as a picture Image batch download: 1. Sign in at chatgpt.com and ask ChatGPT to generate several images in one reply. When they finish, a strip of thumbnails appears to the right of the main image. 2. A batch-download button (a stacked-images icon with a down arrow) appears in the action row under the image. In ChatGPT's full-screen image viewer, the same button is in the top-right toolbar, left of the zoom control. 3. Click it to open the selection panel. All images are selected by default; deselect any, select all or none, or click a thumbnail for a large preview. 4. Click "Download selected" and choose a local folder. Images are saved in parallel with per-image progress; failed images can be retried, and existing files are never overwritten. Note: replies with only one image don't show the button — use ChatGPT's own download for single images. Conversation outline: open a chat with questions; the outline appears in the space right of the chat (the popup can move it to the left; on narrow windows it is a button you can drag anywhere that opens a resizable card). ChatGPT keeps only a few turns of a chat in the page, so for a long chat the outline reads all of its questions from chatgpt.com with your current sign-in; questions scrolled out of the page stay listed, and recently opened chats show their outline at once. Click an entry to jump to that question (questions not on screen are scrolled into view and loaded). The search box searches all your questions. The switch at the top of the outline lists the replies' headings instead (each reply's top level, grouped under its question); click one to jump to that heading. Message queue: while ChatGPT is still answering, type your next message and press Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on Mac) to queue it. Queued messages are listed above the composer, where you can remove, pause or clear them. When the answer finishes, the extension puts the first queued message into the composer and sends it; if you are typing something yourself, it waits until the composer is empty. Text messages only. Smart copy (off by default; switch it on in the extension popup and allow reading images on images.openai.com): when a ChatGPT reply contains interactive parts (cards, charts, calculators and the like), a Smart copy button appears next to ChatGPT's own Copy button under it. Clicking it copies the whole reply in order: headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, math and code stay text (as rich text and Markdown), and each interactive part becomes a picture, ready to paste into a document or notes app. Replies without interactive parts don't show the button. Bulk chat actions: click the checklist icon next to "Recents" in the sidebar, click chats to tick them, then click Archive or Delete in the bar at the bottom. Deleting asks for confirmation and cannot be undone. The extension clicks ChatGPT's own menus to do it. ChatGPT redesigns may temporarily break the button or image detection. Data use: image batch download asks chatgpt.com, with your current sign-in, for the current chat's image list and the original images' download URLs (the access token is used in page memory only, never stored), reads only image URLs and image data, and writes images straight to the folder you choose; the outline reads the text of the questions you sent and, in headings mode, the headings of the replies; for a long chat it requests that chat's full content from chatgpt.com with your current sign-in (the access token is used in page memory only, never stored), builds the outline locally, and keeps a local summary of the questions and reply headings of the 50 most recent chats so they show at once next time (deleted when the outline is switched off); smart copy reads a reply only when you click its button and puts the result only on your clipboard, requesting photos inside interactive parts from images.openai.com once so they can be drawn into the picture (only after you allow it when switching smart copy on); bulk actions read the chat titles in the sidebar and click ChatGPT's own buttons for you, without reading login tokens; queued messages are kept only in page memory until they are sent to ChatGPT and are discarded when the page is closed or reloaded. Nothing is sent to a developer server. Preferences such as language and tool switches are stored locally. See the privacy policy. The interface is available in 14 languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian and Traditional Chinese), switchable in the popup. The toolbar popup has an optional support section (Ko-fi, Alipay, WeChat); it doesn't affect any feature. This is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
