JenKit
Overview
Pin your Jenkins jobs, build any branch in one click, and watch live console logs.
JenKit is a focused Jenkins companion for your browser. Keep the jobs you care about pinned in a side panel, trigger a build on any git branch in one click, and watch the live console log stream in a terminal-style view — without bouncing between Jenkins pages. **Key features** - **Multi-environment** — Configure multiple Jenkins environments (dev / test / prod), each with its own followed-jobs list. Switch environments from a tab at the top of the side panel. - **Followed jobs** — Pick the jobs you care about from the full Jenkins job tree (folder-aware, with keyword search). The side panel shows only those. - **Branch builds** — Click Build, pick a branch from the Git Parameter candidates, and trigger. Jobs that are already building are protected from accidental re-triggers. - **Parameterized builds** — Full support for the "Build with Parameters" form: string, text, boolean, choice, and password parameters render as the right controls with defaults pre-filled. Active Choices dynamic parameters and cascading dropdowns are supported — candidates refresh as upstream values change. - **Live console** — After triggering, follow the whole queue → build lifecycle with incremental log output, and see the final result (SUCCESS / FAILURE / ABORTED) when it ends. - **Build history** — Each job shows its last 5 builds (number, status, branch, time). Click any to view the full log; in-progress builds keep streaming live. - **Abort** — Stop the current build from the log view, or stop an in-progress build from the history list. - **Auto-naming** — Sets the Jenkins build display name to "buildNumber--branch" so history is easy to scan. **Privacy & security** - **No credentials** — JenKit never stores or transmits your Jenkins username, password, or API token. It reuses your browser's existing Jenkins login session (cookies). - **Optional passkey protection** — Protect an environment (e.g. prod) with a passkey; the side panel requires verification before showing that environment's jobs. Only a SHA-256 hash of the passkey is stored. - **Biometric unlock** — Optionally unlock passkey-protected environments with macOS Touch ID or Windows Hello (WebAuthn platform authenticator). The credential never leaves your device and is never exported. - **Config import / export** — Export your environments and followed jobs to JSON for backup or sharing with teammates. Importing merges by Jenkins URL. (Export files name your Jenkins hosts — treat them as sensitive.) - **No analytics** — No telemetry, no advertising, no tracking. The extension talks only to the Jenkins hosts you explicitly add and authorize. **How it works** 1. Log in to your Jenkins in the browser. JenKit reuses that session. 2. Open JenKit options, add an environment (name + Jenkins URL), click "Load jobs", and grant Chrome access to that host. 3. Check the jobs you want to follow (saved automatically). Protect sensitive environments with a passkey. 4. Click the toolbar icon to open the side panel, pick an environment, and build. Not affiliated with Jenkins or Google Chrome.
