Local-first CSS Inspector
Overview
Inspect any element. Understand its design. Copy clean CSS.
Inspect a page element, understand its visual CSS, and copy reusable CSS or Tailwind output — directly in your browser. Local-first CSS Inspector helps frontend developers explore a page after explicitly clicking the extension toolbar button. Hover an accessible element and click to pin it. Features: - Inspect layout, sizing, spacing, typography, colors, borders, effects, and positioning. - View browser-computed values and readable authored CSS, including selectors, variables, cascade context, and supported pseudo-elements. - Compare two elements and review their computed design differences. - Copy clean computed CSS or deterministic Tailwind CSS output. - Inspect supported same-origin iframe content and open Shadow DOM relationships. - Use a panel that adapts to narrow windows. Privacy: Inspection runs locally after explicit activation. The extension temporarily processes selected-element/style information and relevant page or stylesheet URLs to provide inspection and source context. There is no developer backend, analytics, telemetry, account, cloud sync, inspected-page upload, or persistent inspection-data storage. Clipboard writes happen only after an explicit copy action; clipboard contents are not read. Production permissions are limited to activeTab and scripting, with no persistent host permissions or static content scripts. Browser boundaries remain intact: cross-origin stylesheet sources may be partial, cross-origin frames and closed Shadow Roots are not bypassed, and unsupported provenance is not invented.
