Overview

Know where your email travels. Unique Gmail plus-address trails per signup.

AliasTrail creates a unique Gmail plus-address (you+sitename@gmail.com) when you sign up on a website, then helps you see which site an email came through later. This build is a private beta. Features can change. Please report bugs to the AliasTrail team. What it does • On signup pages, offers a per-site alias and fills it when you click the chip • After you finish signup, asks whether to save that alias as a trail • Stores mappings locally on your computer (domain, alias, last seen, email counts) • Optional Gmail connection (read-only) so AliasTrail can match inbox headers to your aliases • Shows a badge on matching Gmail messages and lets you Trust or Dismiss the sender domain • Inbox scans read message headers only (To, Delivered-To, From). AliasTrail does not read email bodies • Dashboard for mappings, sender review, and local inbox insights • Optional browser notifications for a small set of scan events What it does not do • It does not read or store email bodies • It does not scan the web for breaches or leaked addresses • A new sender domain is treated as unreviewed, not automatically malicious • It is not a general email or browsing monitor Plans Free works without an account: local aliases, inbox scan, sender review, and local insights. Pro (optional, $2.99/month or $24.99/year) adds cross-device sync, cloud backup and restore, and community smart alerts. Community alerts compare source and sender domains reported by other users. They do not include aliases, email addresses, subjects, or message content. Privacy Mappings, settings, and scan state stay in chrome.storage.local unless you connect a Pro account and turn on sync. Gmail access uses the gmail.readonly scope and message metadata only. You can disconnect Gmail, export or import JSON, or clear local data from the dashboard. How to get started 1. Pin AliasTrail and open the popup 2. Save your base Gmail address 3. Optionally click Connect Gmail and approve read-only access 4. On a signup page, click the alias chip, finish signup, then choose Add trail if you want it saved Support: https://portal.aliastrail.com Privacy: https://portal.aliastrail.com/privacy
