Overview

Preview links and quickly search or copy selected text without leaving the current page.

Alt Peek lets you inspect a supported link in a focused overlay before deciding whether to open it in a tab. Use Alt + Click, Option + Click on macOS, or an optional long press to open a preview while keeping your current page in place. The extension also offers contextual actions that support the same preview workflow: copying a link, opening a preview in a nearby tab, searching selected text in the overlay, choosing how the preview looks, and disabling previews on individual sites. Alt Peek does not replace the new-tab page, home page, startup page, or default search provider. It does not include ads, analytics, telemetry, behavioral tracking, or remotely hosted code.
