SaveImageChan
Overview
List the images and media loaded in the current tab and download the selected ones in bulk.
To ensure a smooth batch download, we strongly recommend turning off the “Ask where to save each file before downloading” setting in Chrome. If this setting remains on, a dialog asking for the save location will appear every time you save a file. When downloading multiple images at once, a dialog will pop up for each one, which is very time-consuming. Turning it off will automatically save files to the default download folder (and any save location specified by this extension) without prompting, making batch downloads much smoother. Setup Instructions: 1. In Chrome, open `chrome://settings/downloads` (or go to “Settings” → “Downloads”). 2. Toggle the “Ask where to save each file before downloading” switch to [Off]. Now, when downloading in bulk, you can save all files at once without being asked for the file name or save location each time. You can specify the save location in the “Save Location” field of this extension (a folder will be created under the default download folder). ## 1. Extension Description ### Overview Save all images on this page at once. Download both visible and hidden images in a single click. ### Feature Description “I want to save this image, but I can’t right-click it.” “Saving them one by one is a hassle.”—SaveImageChan solves these frustrations. It displays a thumbnail list of all images and media (videos and audio) loaded on the page you’re currently viewing in a panel on the right side of your browser. All you have to do is check the ones you want and save them all at once with a single click. What’s more, SaveImageChan doesn’t stop at “visible images.” Using a combination of network monitoring and page analysis, it reliably captures even CSS background images, images displayed from the cache, and images from URLs without file extensions—elements that many image-saving tools tend to miss. We’ve minimized the frustration of “an image that should be there not appearing in the list” as much as possible. Furthermore, use the size filter to narrow down the list to “only large images” in a single click. You can freely sort the list by size, name, or load order, allowing you to quickly find the specific images you’re looking for. This is perfect for: - Those who want to save images from articles or galleries all at once, rather than one by one - Want to obtain images that are difficult to handle using the “Save Image” option in the right-click menu - Want to select only large images for the main content, distinguishing them from thumbnails and icons - Want to get a comprehensive overview of what images this page is loading And here’s what gives you peace of mind: Everything runs entirely within your browser. We never send any collected information to external sources. No account registration or login is required. You can start using it right after installation. Key Features: - Displays a list of loaded images and media in a two-column grid with thumbnails in the side panel on the right side of the browser - Collects data through both network monitoring and DOM scanning, making it less likely to miss images from the cache or images from URLs without file extensions - Filter by file size (display only files larger than a specified number of KB) - Sort by file size, filename, or load order - Select multiple items for batch download. You can specify the destination folder (within the Downloads folder) - Prioritizes saving data already loaded into the browser to avoid re-accessing the server whenever possible - Supports displaying and saving inline SVG (`<svg>` elements) embedded directly within the page (optional) - The list automatically updates when switching active tabs or reloading the page All processing takes place entirely within your browser. No collected information is ever sent to external servers. No account registration or login is required. ## 2. How to Use the Tool and Screen Element Descriptions ### Basic Usage 1. Open the web page containing the images you want to view. 2. Click the SaveImageChan icon on the toolbar to open a side panel on the right side of your browser. 3. The panel displays a list of images and media loaded on that page. 4. Check the checkbox next to the items you want to save (you can also select them by clicking on the thumbnails). 5. Click the “Batch Download” button to download the selected items. ### Explanation of Screen Elements Top Control Panel (Fixed Display): - Size Filter (Checkbox + Slider) When checked, the list will display only files that are larger than the size specified by the slider. The slider allows you to specify sizes from 0 to 2000 KB in 10 KB increments, and the display will read “◯◯ KB or larger.” When unchecked, no filtering by size is applied. - Show Unknown Sizes (Checkbox) Toggles whether to display images and media for which the file size could not be retrieved in the list. They are displayed only when checked (default is unchecked). - Show Inline SVG (Checkbox) Toggles whether to collect and display in the list inline SVG elements (`<svg>`) embedded directly in HTML. They are displayed only when this option is checked (default: unchecked). - Save Location (Text Input) Specify the name of the download folder. A folder with this name will be created under the browser’s default download folder to store the files. The default value is “SaveImageChan.” If left blank, no subfolder will be created, and files will be saved directly to the default download folder. You cannot enter characters that are not allowed in Windows folder names or specifications that go beyond the current directory level (such as `..` or `\`). - Sort Order (Drop-down) Select how to sort the list. You can choose from: Size (Descending), Size (Ascending), Filename (Ascending), Filename (Descending), Oldest First, or Newest First. - Bulk Download (Button) Downloads the checked images and media files all at once. - Select All / Deselect All (Button) Selects all items displayed in the list or deselects all items. - Item Count Display Displays the number of selected items and the total number of items in the list in the format “◯ items selected / ◯ items.” List Area (Scrollable View): - Images and media are displayed in a two-column grid. Each item is scaled down to fit within a square area while maintaining its aspect ratio. - For media types such as videos and audio files that cannot display thumbnails, an icon is displayed instead. - Each item displays the filename, file size, and image resolution (e.g., 1920x1080) and includes a checkbox for selection. Resolution is displayed only for images where it is available. - File size and resolution are displayed in separate rectangular badges (white background, black text, with a faint shadow) to make them easy to distinguish. ### Notes - When you switch to a different active tab, the list is updated to reflect the contents of the new tab. - When you reload the page, the list is regenerated based on the page’s current content. - The feature prioritizes saving data already loaded into the browser; however, some images and media—such as resources requiring authentication or one-time URLs—may not be saved. - Settings for saving to a specific location, size filters (ON/OFF and values), “Show unknown sizes,” “Show inline SVGs,” and sort order are automatically saved and restored the next time you open the side panel. If a saved value is invalid, it will be reset to the default and displayed accordingly. - The display language automatically switches based on your browser’s language settings (supports Japanese and English; for unsupported languages, it displays in English). ## 3.
