Watching Japanese videos is one of the best ways to learn the language, but native captions are hard to follow if you don't recognize all the kanji yet. This extension reads the Japanese captions the site already provides and draws a clean romaji line over the player, synced to the audio, so you can follow along and pick up vocabulary as you watch. ──────────────────────── WHAT IT DOES ──────────────────────── • Real-time romaji overlay — Japanese captions are converted to romaji on the fly and shown in sync with the video. • Works on YouTube and Prime Video — on Prime Video, pick Japanese subtitles in the player and the overlay follows them. • Reading made effortless — conjugated verbs and phrases stay together as whole words ("住んでいます" → "sundeimasu"), not shredded syllable by syllable. • Optional Japanese line — show the original Japanese caption underneath the romaji to connect sound, reading, and meaning. • Adjustable size and position — a size slider scales the subtitles, and a vertical position slider moves them up or down in the player so they clear other on-screen text. • Word-by-word lookup — hover any word in the overlay to see its reading (kana) and a short English meaning, from a built-in dictionary. • Auto-enable captions (YouTube) — if a YouTube video has Japanese captions but they're off, the extension can turn them on for you. ────────────────────────
