Well, it works fine for what it's for. Most of the negative reviews here seem to be a vain attempt at getting this app removed from the web store and/or to vent.

this is the worst application to practice ANYTHING. The point system is shouldn't even be in a practice program. Your trying to teach kids how to learn, not to simply google the answers because of how broken the system is. IXl is not for older kids, older kids tend to focus on things that are fun and that's why their GPA score is a lot lower than younger kids GPA score. Fundamentally, IXL is actually an XLent application. (see what I did there? why aren't you laughing at the joke? *pulls colt smg* laugh at the joke.) At grade levels 5 and under, the application is great for a quick 10-minute practice session, and is a great application to use if you're a teacher looking to quickly give the students an assignment to refresh their memory. WORST APP EVER!!! I swear to god if my lazy teachers tell me to use this again im going to flip. This app is used by really really boring and lazy teachers whom dont want to do anything. I am in the 7th grade and I have used this for Many years. This app is not fun AT ALL, Its actually the opposite of fun. Its so annoying everytime I get one right its wrong I now its right so bad. It made punch my chromebook hard. Its really stressful

IXL IS LITERALLY THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD MY TEACHER GIVES IT TO ME AND IT IS SOOOO FRUSTERATING AND I HATE IT!!! IF YOU ANSWER CORECTLY YOUR LEVEL GOES UP BUT IF YOY ANSWER WRONG THEN YOU LOOSE A LOT OF YOUR SMARTSCORE I HATE IXL BRUH.

i'm learning from this,i always feel good when i get one of the rewards even if they look ugly, its really helped with home schooling, i enjoy using it i guess its bc i enjoy school but i dont reccomend they're are so many mad mad kids i feel like im a big fat nerd for liking this since like all the good ratings are IXL ....really dont buy this it makes everyone so MAD! -an nerdy 3rd grader

The scoring system is terrible, but you can learn new math skills...

It send you back so for when you get it wrong,, but goes up very little if you get it right
