IWASHERE: Local bookmarks, little breadcrumbs. One hotkey, one webloc THE BEST WAY TO BROWSE YOUR TRAIL On macOS, select a bookmark in Finder and press Space to preview it with Quick Look. Use the next/previous arrow keys to navigate between bookmarks. Assign your own keyboard shortcut in Chrome, then use it to save the current page URL as a bookmark file. No hotkey is assigned by default. Iwashere creates a 📍IWasHere folder in Downloads with your first save. Your bookmarks accumulate there: /Downloads/📍IWasHere/. - macOS saves .webloc files. - Windows saves .url files. - Filenames use Site.PageName.webloc (or .url on Windows), without listing IDs. - Etsy adds the shop name when available: Etsy.ShopName.Title.webloc. Titles stop at a complete word within 32 characters. - Repeated names are uniquified automatically. - No popup or dashboard. - No timed trial or expiry. Use Iwashere to keep a local research trail, save useful sites, or leave yourself breadcrumbs back to a page. Open a bookmark file to return to its URL. Move and back up the files like any other documents. Free to use with an optional upgrade: every twentieth successful bookmark save shows an animated upgrade prompt for 3 seconds. Paid users do not see it. Upgrade and Restore purchase are handled by ExtensionPay. Assign your shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Some key combinations are reserved or unavailable; choose one Chrome accepts and test it. Bookmarks contain URLs, not offline page copies. Assumes your browsers use the Downloads folder. Restricted pages and closed tabs can prevent upgrade prompts from appearing. Permissions: activeTab reads the current page URL and title when you use the shortcut. downloads creates local bookmark files. storage keeps the save count and payment state. scripting reads the Etsy shop name when saving a listing or shop page, and shows the brief upgrade prompt. alarms clears the temporary save-status badge. Bookmark URLs and titles are not transmitted to ExtensionPay. ExtensionPay handles optional purchases and payment status.
