Copy DSA tables; rich text hotkeys; collapse SNOW email quotes
An extension built by the student developers at UC San Diego ITS Service Desk. This tool is intended to bring quality of life changes to our daily workflow. All of the code is open source and you can find it here: https://github.com/ucsd-its-sd/UCSD-ITS-Extension Functionality within SNOW Classic: 1) To hyperlink a segment of text, highlight the text and click on the following shortcut: ⌘+K or Ctrl+Q on Windows. Then, paste the URL within the href="[url here]," or you can simply chain it with ⌘/Ctrl+V to instantly hyperlink the highlighted text. 2) To include an image, simply copy the image address and click on ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+I and paste the image URL right after. 3) To bold text, either highlight the text and use the shortcut or use the shortcut and type your text within the <b>[text here]</b> tags ⌘/Ctrl+B 4) To enable a confirmation dialog before proposing solution on a case, press ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+X. 4) This extension automatically collapses e-mail threads in SNOW as well. Functionality on DSA Search by department/email address To copy a table from DSA search, find the user's list of DSAs and click on the copy button right next to the table. After you have copied the table, you can paste it in the ServiceNow text field for a formatted table.
