Overview

Save words from articles you read and YouTube videos you watch, with translations, into your Iterum library.

Iterum turns the articles you read and the YouTube videos you watch into vocabulary you actually keep. Select a word or a short phrase on any web page, press the Iterum button, and you get the translation, its CEFR level, how common it is, and the sentence it came from, translated too. One more click saves it. The word shows up in the Iterum app with its sentence and source, ready for spaced-repetition review. HOW IT WORKS • Select a word or phrase (up to 10 words) on any page. The Iterum button appears next to your selection. • See the translation, level (A1–C2), frequency, and the original sentence with its translation. • Save to Inbox: free, and doesn't use any of your plan's sources. • Or start a New Source deck: the article or video gets its own deck, and words you already saved to the Inbox from that page move into it. • Changed your mind? Undo right from the page. YOUTUBE SUBTITLES Turn on subtitles (CC) and point at them. The video pauses while your pointer is on the subtitles, so you can select a word, and plays again when you move away. Words are saved with the moment they were said, and the Iterum app opens the video in its own player with the word marked in the subtitles. MORE THAN ONE LANGUAGE Learning English, Spanish, French or Polish, or more than one of them? Pick the language for a site or a video once, and Iterum remembers it. Translations come in your native language. FREE AND ADVANCED Single-word look-ups and saving to the Inbox are free. Phrase translations and new source decks count toward the free plan's monthly limits, and Iterum shows you how many you have left before you use one. Iterum Advanced removes the limits. PRIVACY • Nothing is sent when a page loads. • The first time you select text on a page, Iterum checks whether it works on that site. • Translating sends the text you selected and its sentence. Saving sends the word, its sentence and the page address (or, on YouTube, the video and the moment in it). • Your sign-in stays inside the extension. It is never exposed to the websites you visit. Iterum needs access to all websites so the button is ready on whatever you are reading, without a click first. It only reads the text you select and the sentence around it. REQUIREMENTS A free Iterum account (sign in with Google) and the Iterum app to review your words. Works in Chrome and Edge.
