Tampering is mathematically detectable — anyone can independently verify. 🟡 Platform-Verified — Reviews are collected by a third-party platform (Trustpilot, Yotpo, Judge.me, etc.) that claims to verify purchases. But you must trust their servers — there's no independent way to check. 🟠 Self-Reported — Reviews come from Google, Facebook, Shopify's native system, or schema markup. The business controls what's displayed with no purchase verification. 🔴 Unverified Testimonials — Plain text on a page.
