Is My Post Removed? for Reddit
Overview
See what Reddit hides. Instant status on every post you make.
Reddit silently removes posts and comments without telling you. Your content still looks normal to you, but nobody else can see it. This extension detects ghost removals instantly. How it works: 1. You post or comment on Reddit as usual. 2. The extension checks automatically (30 seconds after posting). 3. A badge appears on your post: LIVE or GHOST, plus the reason it was removed. Removal causes detected: - Spam filter: Reddit's automated filter flagged your post. - Moderator: A subreddit mod removed your post. - AutoMod: AutoMod rules filtered your post. - Admin: A Reddit admin removed your post. - Copyright takedown: Removed due to a copyright claim. - Content policy: Removed for content policy violation. Where badges appear: - Your profile page (posts and comments tabs) - Individual post pages (inline banner) - Browser notification when a new post is ghosted How detection works: The extension reads Reddit's own "removed_by_category" field from the public .json endpoint, the same signal Reddit uses internally. One fetch per post, no third-party APIs. Privacy: - No data leaves your browser. - No accounts, no sign-up required. - No analytics, no tracking. - Only reads your own posts via Reddit's public .json endpoint. - Open source: https://github.com/LeonTing1010/postghost Works on both new Reddit (reddit.com) and old Reddit (old.reddit.com).
