Overview
Annotates Google Maps with whether each star rating is genuine, inflated, or manipulated — verified by legitreviews.ai.
Star ratings on Google Maps are easy to fake. Review farms, purchased five-star bursts, and solicited reviews push bad places to 4.8 while honest ones sit at 4.3. Is It Legit? adds a verdict line directly under the star rating of every place you look at, in search results and on place pages. At a glance you see: • A verdict: genuine, inflated, or manipulated • An adjusted rating based on hard-to-fake reviewers, next to Google's headline number • A link to the full evidence on legitreviews.ai, including review bursts, repeat offenders, and AI-written text How it works: the first time anyone looks at a place, the extension reads its entire review history and scores it for manipulation patterns. Results are cached, so most places resolve instantly for everyone after that. What the extension does NOT do: • It never reads your Google account, cookies, or personal data • It sends nothing but the place's public identifier to our server • No ads, no tracking, no account required Works on Google Maps search results and place detail pages. New places take a moment on first look while every review is read; after that the verdict is instant.
