Meet + Zoom + Teams audio recorder for your browser — no bot in the call, no subscription, no watermark, no monthly cap. Audio stays on your device until YOU click Transcribe. Then that one recording is sent to your IronMemo account for the transcript. Every free meeting-recorder extension on the store has the same three catches: a bot has to join the call (or the host has to allow it), the audio is uploaded to a vendor's cloud from day one, and the "free" tier caps you at 5 minutes or stamps the export with a watermark. IronMemo skips all three. Recording is 100 % local. Nothing appears in the participant list. • Records your microphone + the browser tab audio in one click. • Files stay on your device (browser's OPFS storage) until you decide to send one for transcription. • Works during Google Meet, Zoom (web), Microsoft Teams (web), Discord (web), or any browser tab that plays audio. • The real limit on recording length is your free disk space, not an artificial monthly cap. • Live waveform in the popup so you can see the microphone is arriving before you commit to a long session. • Per-role downloads: microphone, tab audio, and a mix. Not all three glued into one file. • Interruption-resilient: behavior measured across 7 kinds of failure (tab crash, service-worker eviction, storage full, mid-recording browser update, and more). Reboot and system sleep are not yet measured — do not rely on this behavior across those two failure modes. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ TRANSCRIPTION — OPT-IN, PER RECORDING ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Each recording carries a "Transcribe with IronMemo" button on the Recordings page. Click it, and IronMemo prompts you with a separate disclosure: what is uploaded, where, and to which speech-to-text providers. You confirm; only then the upload starts. • 10 minutes of transcription free per account. Beyond that a recording needs IronMemo credits or a paid plan. There is no monthly cap in addition to the one-time 10-minute grant. • No account needed to record. To transcribe, IronMemo verifies your e-mail with a one-time code — no password. The verified e-mail becomes the login on app.ironmemo.com so you can access the same recordings on the website later. • Transcript comes back in a few seconds for a typical meeting and is stored on your device as a plain-text .txt file next to the audio, plus a machine-readable .json with timestamps, plus an .srt export for players. Download any of them locally, or open the recording on IronMemo. • You can delete the server copy at any time from the same Recordings page. Some meeting recorders on the store add a bot to your call — IronMemo does not. • Does not upload your audio automatically. Nothing leaves your device until you click Transcribe on a specific recording and accept the disclosure. • Does not train any AI model on your recordings, transcripts, or summaries. • Does not read page text, passwords, or browsing history. • Does not add a watermark or a silence gap to your exports. • Does not auto-join meetings from your calendar. • Does not require an account to record. Transcription creates a guest account that you can claim with your e-mail when you are ready. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Chrome's tabCapture API grabs the audio of the active tab; getUserMedia grabs the microphone. Both are user-gestured — you click Start, no silent capture. • Encoding: Opus in an OGG container (via WebCodecs when supported, MediaRecorder as fallback). Default 48 kbps; adjustable in Settings. • Local storage: browser's Origin Private File System (OPFS) — not the OS file system. Files never appear in Explorer or Finder; download them from the Recordings page. • Transcription: when you click Transcribe, the audio is sent to IronMemo (app.ironmemo.com). IronMemo delegates the speech-to-text step to third-party sub-processors: ElevenLabs Scribe for most languages, AssemblyAI as a wide-tail fallback, and GigaAM for Russian. IronMemo does not train models on your recordings, transcripts, or summaries — this is a policy commitment of the service. See the privacy policy for provider retention links. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ RECORDING CONSENT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Before your first recording, IronMemo shows a full disclosure — what it captures, where files are stored, and that you are responsible for meeting-participant consent under the law of your jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions require all-party consent; some are one-party. IronMemo does not automatically tell participants a recording is happening — that is your call, and the disclosure names it. Before your first cloud upload, IronMemo shows a second, separate disclosure: what is sent, where, and to which sub-processors. You must accept it before any upload starts. Users who only record locally never see the cloud disclosure. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ DATA CATEGORIES DECLARED TO CHROME ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Personal communications — microphone voice. • Website content — tab audio and extension settings. • Authentication information — IronMemo account tokens and your e-mail as the login. • Personally identifiable information — your e-mail address (only after you enter it in the Add-your-e-mail dialog).
