Irish Car Import Calculator reads the car on the listing page you are viewing and adds one line next to the asking price: the price converted to euros, plus the Irish import taxes — Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT), import VAT, customs duty where it applies, and the NOx levy. One glance gives you the real landed cost. WHAT IT DOES • Works on AutoTrader, Cazoo, CarGurus and DoneDeal listing pages. • Shows a euro landed-cost figure right beside the asking price. • "Verify" runs that figure through Revenue's own official eVRT calculator at ros.ie, in the background, and replaces the estimate with the real valuation. • On a search-results page, one button opens a listing and runs that check for you. • Electric cars, Northern-Ireland-sourced cars, and the customs-duty "where was it built?" question are each handled and clearly flagged. HOW ACCURATE IS IT The figure shown before you click Verify is an estimate, and is labelled as one. For mainstream cars it is usually within a few per cent of Revenue's number; some premium models read a little low until you Verify. It is never presented as official — one click gets you Revenue's real figure for that exact car. PRIVACY Everything is calculated in your browser. No browsing history, no listing URL, and nothing identifying you is ever sent anywhere. After a successful Verify, the car's specification and the valuation Revenue returned are sent — anonymously, with no identifier — to a small pooled dataset that sharpens the estimate for everyone.
