IPKalix Shield
Overview
Part of your company's data protection. Checks files and text going to websites, with IPKalix Shield on this computer.
IPKalix Shield for your browser is the web part of IPKalix Shield, a data-loss-prevention product that your company installs on its Windows computers. What it does: when someone pastes text, drops a file or chooses a file to attach on a website that your company has chosen to watch (webmail, chat, social sites and AI tools), it asks IPKalix Shield on the same computer whether the text or file contains sensitive information such as Aadhaar, PAN or card numbers. If the company's rules say it must not go out, the paste or attachment is refused and a short notice explains why. How it works: the extension has no server and sends nothing to the internet. It talks only to the IPKalix Shield program installed on the same computer (through Chrome's native messaging) and that program decides. Without IPKalix Shield installed and set up by your company, the extension does nothing. On AI tools, when your company turns it on, the extension also passes the message you send to the IPKalix Shield program on this computer so the company can keep a record. Who it is for: companies that use IPKalix Shield. It is installed and managed by the company's administrator.
