Overview

Detect and display your device's IP address. Enterprise-ready with IP range restrictions via Google Admin Console.

ipLOCK helps organizations enforce network-based access controls on Chromebook and Chrome devices. It detects the device’s public and local IP addresses and compares them to an Admin Console managed policy; if the device is outside approved ranges the extension replaces the page with a clear block screen and admin message. Why install? Prevent accidental or unauthorized access when users connect from unapproved networks (hotel Wi‑Fi, public hotspots, etc.). Enforce corporate IP allowlists centrally via Google Admin Console (managed schema support). Provide a clear, configurable block experience with admin contact and auditable device ID. Lightweight and privacy-minded — only reads IPs needed to enforce policy; no user browsing data is harvested. Key features: Detects public IP (IP services with resilient fallbacks) and local/private IP via WebRTC. Supports CIDR and single-IP allowlists for public and local ranges. Configurable matching modes: any, all, publicOnly, localOnly. Admin Console managed schema and example policy for easy centralized deployment. Custom block message and optional logging for audit/debugging.
