JustFocus is a website blocker and focus extension for Chrome and Edge that helps you stop doomscrolling and get back to focused work or study. Add a distracting site, choose how long to block it, and from then on you land on a calm reminder page with a countdown instead of the feed. No account, no sign-up, no ad tracking. Whole-site blocking is unlimited and free. For the sites you still need, Surgical Blocking removes only the addictive part — the short-video shelf and the endless recommendation feed — while search, profiles, messages, subscriptions and boards keep working exactly as before. WHY JUSTFOCUS • Block any website: add a domain and every subdomain is covered. There is no limit on how many sites you block. • Timed blocks: 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours or permanent. When the timer runs out the block lifts by itself — nothing to switch off and no reminder nagging you. • One-click pause: turn all blocking off for a lunch break, then turn it back on. • 5-minute bypass: the reminder page has a bypass button for the times you honestly need one page. Five minutes later the block is back, automatically. • The reminder page shows how long is left, so the end of a block is visible rather than something you have to guess at. • Optional password lock: require a local password to pause blocking, use the bypass, remove a site, clear the list or change a timer. Only a salted hash is stored, on this device only. A forgotten password cannot be recovered. • Sync and backup: your blocklist and timers sync across the browsers signed into the same Chrome account. SURGICAL BLOCKING — HIDE THE FEED, KEEP THE SITE Most blockers are all or nothing: you either give up the whole site or you keep the whole feed. Surgical Blocking removes only the addictive module, so the parts you actually came for stay available. It covers twelve of the places where people lose the most time, among them YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. On each one it hides the short-video shelf or the algorithmic timeline together with its navigation entry, and redirects the feed's own addresses. Search, boards, profiles, company pages, messages and subscriptions are left untouched — a research session or a group chat is not collateral damage. Every supported site has its own switch, and all of them are off after installation, so nothing on a page changes until you decide it should. The list page shows which sites are supported and what is hidden on each of them. Every free feature works without an account. Premium asks the licence server for a check about every two hours. If the server cannot be reached, Premium keeps working from the last verified state — a network failure never turns your paid features off. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pin JustFocus to your toolbar. 2. Add a website and choose a block duration. 3. Open the site later and you get a focus reminder with the remaining time instead of the page. 4. Need a break? Bypass for five minutes, pause all blocking, or change the timer on the list page. PRIVACY FIRST • Blocking runs on Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API. JustFocus does not collect, store or sell your browsing history. • Surgical Blocking works by hiding elements inside the supported pages and by redirecting their feed addresses. The script only looks for the feed's own elements on those pages; nothing is copied out and nothing is sent anywhere. • Your blocklist, timers and surgical switches are kept in Chrome storage. If browser sync is enabled, Chrome syncs them between your devices; they are never sent to JustFocus servers. • No account and no advertising trackers. Without a licence, no JustFocus server is contacted at all. • The optional password is stored locally as a salted SHA-256 hash and never syncs. • Licence activation is optional. It sends a random installation identifier and basic browser metadata to the licence server to verify the key. It never includes your blocklist or browsing history. • The all-sites host permission is used only to apply the blocking rules you create; access to the surgical sites is what lets their feeds be hidden.
