Interlinear
Overview
A bilingual reading layer that follows the text you're reading, no popups.
Interlinear places the translation exactly where you are already looking. Instead of using pop-ups, sidebars, or separate tabs, Interlinear inserts the translation right below the paragraph you are reading—it scrolls along with the page and moves out of the way when you finish the paragraph. Private by default. Translation runs on Chrome’s built-in model whenever available—nothing you read leaves your computer. Optional fallbacks (LibreTranslate, DeepL) remain disabled until you configure them yourself. Reading modes: • Follow reading — translation appears as you scroll. • Bilingual — original and translation side-by-side in the same block. • Compact — short preview, expandable on demand. • On demand — nothing happens until you click. Beyond translation: • Select a short technical term and have Interlinear explain it in context—no external dictionary, no extra tab. • Pin a translation to keep it visible while you continue reading. • Copy or listen to any translation (text-to-speech). No account. No sign-up. No mandatory setup—install, open an article, and it works.
