Intentube helps you use YouTube™ for what you came for and then leave, instead of being pulled into endless recommendations. Distraction-free by default • Search-only home page: no recommendation feed, just a search box and shortcuts to your subscriptions, saved videos and time left today • No Shorts: Shorts shelves are hidden and Shorts links open in the normal player • Autoplay off, and a "Video finished" panel instead of the next video (your own playlists still play through) • No end-screen video wall, cards, hover previews, notification badge, "(3)" counts in the tab title or new-video dots • Placeholder thumbnails instead of clickbait images, and calmer titles (no SHOUTING, emoji or !!!) • Full-height player; related videos are folded away behind a "Show related videos" button Intent and time • Say what you're here for; your first search becomes your intent, shown in YouTube's top bar, where you can edit it or switch it to a new search • A short "Is this why you came?" pause before videos opened from recommendations: go back, save it for later, or watch anyway. Never for videos you searched for or chose yourself • Session budget, daily limit and allowed hours; at a limit the page dims and the video pauses • A weekly summary: watch time, videos opened from search vs recommendations, intents done Your subscriptions, your way • A chronological subscriptions page built from each channel's RSS feed: shows instantly, marks what's new since your last visit, no Shorts, your own groups • A "Later" queue capped at 10, so tempting videos wait instead of opening now (save from search results, the subscriptions page or the pause screen) Learn from what you watch • Timestamped notes under the video, with clickable times • Comments hidden until you've watched 90% (or click to show) • Optional: hide view and subscriber counts, grayscale mode, and SponsorBlock sponsor skipping Friction, not prohibition: turning anything off or loosening a limit asks you to type a short sentence or wait 60 seconds. Turning things on is instant. Private by design: everything stays on your device. No accounts, analytics or tracking.
