Intent Gate — the pause between impulse and action. Most of the time you open Instagram or TikTok, you didn't decide to. Your thumb did. Intent Gate puts a deliberate speed bump between the impulse and the feed. Pick the sites that pull you in. When you try to visit one, Intent Gate stops you on a quiet page and asks you to type your commitment phrase — exactly, character for character. No pasting, no copying, no shortcuts. If you genuinely need to be there, thirty seconds of typing won't stop you. If you were just scratching an itch, you'll usually close the tab instead. How it works: Add any site to your blocked list (subdomains covered automatically) Write your own phrase — make it something that actually makes you think Type it to unlock the site for a time window you choose (1–120 minutes) When the window ends, the gate comes back What it doesn't do: No accounts, no sign-up No tracking, no analytics, nothing leaves your browser Your settings live in local storage on your machine, full stop Intent Gate won't fight you.
