InstaYolo is a free, one-click Instagram downloader built on top of instayolo.com. Install the extension and save any public Instagram post without copy-pasting URLs. ━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━ Option 1 — Right-click on an Instagram link (anywhere, on any page): 1. Right-click the link to a Reel, Video, Post, or Story. 2. Choose "Download link with InstaYolo" from the context menu. 3. A new tab opens on instayolo.com with the URL prefilled — the download starts automatically. Option 2 — Click the toolbar icon: 1. Browse to an Instagram post, reel, or story in any tab. 2. Click the InstaYolo icon in your toolbar. 3. Hit "Download current Instagram page" — a tab opens on instayolo.com and downloads. You can also paste any Instagram URL into the popup directly. ━━━ WHAT YOU GET ━━━ • Reels — 1080p MP4 with merged audio (video + audio DASH streams stitched server-side with ffmpeg) • Videos / IGTV — MP4 with full audio, resolutions up to Instagram's 1080p ceiling • Stories — MP4 for video stories, JPG / WebP for photo stories (within the 24-hour window) • Photos / Carousels — full-resolution images at Instagram's 1080-pixel long-edge cap • Reels to MP3 — 192 kbps LAME MP3 or pass-through M4A audio ━━━ WHAT WE DON'T DO ━━━ • We do not support private accounts. Ever. Instagram's privacy settings are final. • We do not store your Instagram credentials. We never ask for them. • We do not log the URLs you paste or the files you download. • We do not add watermarks, branding, or overlays to your files. • We do not track you with analytics cookies inside the extension. No SDK. No pixel. ━━━ PERMISSIONS JUSTIFICATION ━━━ • contextMenus — required to add the "Download with InstaYolo" right-click option. Without this, the right-click flow doesn't exist. • tabs — required to open a new tab to instayolo.com with the URL prefilled. The extension does not read the content of your tabs; it only creates new ones. • host_permissions for instagram.com — scoped so the right-click menu only appears on Instagram pages, not on every website you visit. This is a privacy choice — broader host permissions would be simpler to code but more invasive. The extension does not request storage, cookies, webRequest, remote scripts, analytics, or any other permission. The full source code is in our public GitHub repository for audit. ━━━ WHY THIS EXISTS ━━━ Instagram's mobile app doesn't let you save most posts. Third-party downloader apps often ask for phone permissions they don't need (contacts, location, SMS access) and monetize your data. We built a browser-based tool that keeps the site-visit flow transparent and never touches your Instagram account. Every download happens on instayolo.com. The extension is just a shortcut — two fewer clicks between seeing an Instagram post and saving the file.
