Save Photos & Videos Keep the posts that matter without screen recording or third-party sites: • One-Click Download - Save the photo, video, Reel, or story frame you're currently viewing without leaving Instagram. • Carousel-Aware - Downloads the slide actually in view, not the first one in the carousel. • Reels & Long-Form Video - Captures the real video file by mirroring the stream as it plays, so you save the source instead of a screen recording. • Save Status in the Filename - Partial captures are flagged so you can re-save after letting the clip play through, and Reels missing their separate audio track are marked so muted exports are never a surprise. • Keyboard Shortcut (Experimental) - Press D to save whatever you're watching. • Older Post Fallback - For posts the extension can't reach directly, the in-app hint reminds you that right-click then "Save image as" still works. Enhanced Video Controls A beautiful, intuitive control bar appears on every Instagram video and Reel: • Progress Bar - See exactly where you are in the video with a draggable progress indicator. Jump to any point instantly. • Seek Preview Thumbnails (Experimental) - Hover the progress bar and a small tile shows the exact frame at that timestamp, on feed videos and Reels alike. Still experimental and refined over time - enable it from the popup to scrub with a clearer view. • Time Display - View current position and total duration (e.g., "0:45 / 2:30") on feed videos and Reels. • Smart Auto-Hide - Controls fade away after a few seconds of inactivity and reappear when you hover or interact. • Works Everywhere - Regular posts, Reels, and Stories all get the same great controls. Controls Theme & Transparency Make the control bar look the way you want: • Transparent Theme (Default) - A frosted, low-profile bar that lets the video breathe. • Classic Theme - A solid black bar in the YouTube style if you prefer maximum contrast. • Transparency Slider - Dial the bar's presence in from 0-100% with a percentage you can type directly. • Substantial Backing at Low Transparency - Push the slider down and the bar gains a uniform frosted backdrop so it still reads as a proper control bar instead of fading away. • Reset Button - Snap back to the default look in one click. Fit Video to Screen Stop missing what's outside the crop: • Letterbox Mode - Show the whole video with thin black bars instead of Instagram's default top/bottom crop. • Works on Reels and feed videos - Wide-aspect clips display their full frame, vertical Reels are unchanged. • On by Default - Enabled out of the box so wide clips show their full frame straight away; toggle it off in the popup if you prefer Instagram's crop. Volume Management Never deal with Instagram's frustrating default muted videos again: • Volume Slider - Fine-grained control from 0-100%. • Volume Memory - Your preferred volume is saved and applied automatically to all videos. • Auto-Unmute - Start every video at your chosen volume instead of muted. • Click-to-Edit - Click the percentage to type an exact volume value. • Volume Protection - Prevents Instagram from resetting your volume settings. Playback Speed Control Watch content at your own pace: • 8 Speed Options - 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, or 2x. • Default Speed Setting - Set your preferred speed and it applies automatically to all videos. • Speed Persistence - Your chosen speed carries over as you browse. Picture-in-Picture Continue watching while you browse: • Pop videos out into a floating window. • Watch while using other tabs or applications. • Standard browser PiP support. Fullscreen Mode Expand any Instagram video to fill your entire screen for an immersive viewing experience - pairs with Fit Video to Screen for letterboxed, uncropped playback. Background Playback Keep audio playing when the tab loses focus - useful for listening to long Reels while you work. Explore Grid Controls By default, the hover-preview videos in the Explore and profile grids stay silent so they never play sound over a post you open. Keyboard Shortcuts Power users will love the comprehensive keyboard controls: Playback: • Space or K - Play/Pause • Left Arrow - Seek back 5 seconds • Right Arrow - Seek forward 5 seconds Audio: • M - Mute/Unmute • Up Arrow - Volume up 10% • Down Arrow - Volume down 10% Display: • F - Toggle fullscreen • P - Picture-in-Picture Speed: • < - Decrease speed • > - Increase speed Save: • D - Download the photo, video, or Reel currently in view (Experimental) Shortcuts are automatically disabled when you're typing in text fields, so they won't interfere with comments or messages. Fully Customizable Access the extension popup to configure exactly which features you want: Visible Controls: • Toggle the entire control bar on/off. • Show or hide individual controls (volume slider, speed menu, PiP button, fullscreen button, seek preview thumbnails). • Pick a Controls Theme (Transparent or Classic) and dial in your transparency level. Preferences: • Enable or disable keyboard shortcuts. • Toggle auto-unmute behavior. • Toggle Fit Video to Screen for letterboxed playback. • Toggle Background Playback for tab-blurred audio. • Toggle Explore Grid Controls to add playback controls to grid hover-previews (off by default). • Set your default playback speed.
