Insta Recommends Scanner
Overview
2-hop following scan on Instagram (DOM automation only, local-only).
Scan your Instagram following graph and surface accounts whose name, bio, or username match your search terms. Insta Recommends Scanner helps you search your own Instagram network without running an external crawler. - Starts from accounts you already follow. - Expands one more hop into the accounts those accounts follow. - Flags profiles whose username, full name, or bio match your query. - Shows connection paths such as `@you -> @seed -> @candidate`. - Runs in batches and pauses when Instagram needs attention. - Stores progress locally so you can resume later. Privacy notes - The extension runs only on Instagram pages. - The scanner script is injected only into the dedicated Instagram scanner tab that the user opens or starts. - Scan state and recent findings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. - Larger scan queues are stored locally in IndexedDB on instagram.com. - AI synonym expansion is optional and off by default. - If the user enables AI synonym expansion, user-entered query groups may be sent to the extension's Cloud Run proxy for Gemini-powered synonym expansion. - Instagram profile data gathered during scanning is processed locally in the browser and is not intentionally sent to the Gemini proxy.
