Overview

Hide or blur the Instagram home feed, stories, suggested follows, and the Explore grid.

A browser extension that automatically hides or blurs the Instagram home feed — posts, stories, suggested follows, and the Explore grid — so you can still use search, DMs, and profiles without getting pulled into the scroll. Features - Hide mode (default): removes the entire home feed, leaving a small placeholder message - Blur mode: heavily blurs posts and stories; adjustable blur strength (6–60 px) - Optional hover to reveal — mouse over an item to peek at it - Hide suggested follows: strips the "Suggested for you" block - Also apply on the Explore grid: blurs/hides the recommendation grid at /explore and under the search box — while tags/topics you actively search into stay visible - Hide Reels & Explore nav shortcuts: trims those entry points from the left sidebar - Grayscale everything: desaturates the whole site to lower its visual pull - Switch modes anytime from the toolbar popup — changes apply instantly, no reload needed - Search, DMs, and profiles are never touched. Only the home feed and Explore grid are affected - No flash of un-blurred content: settings are applied before first paint - No tracking, no network requests, no data collection How it works Instagram's CSS class names are obfuscated and change frequently, so the extension never relies on them. Instead it targets stable structural anchors: - main[role="main"] is the content area — the left nav sits outside it, which is why search and DMs are never affected - Feed posts are <article> elements; story bubbles are a[href^="/stories/"] - Explore grid tiles are a[href*="/p/"] and a[href*="/reel/"] links - The "Suggested for you" block is found by walking up from its /explore/people "See All" link to the smallest container holding several profile links
