Overview

Inspector helps verify the reliability of news sources while surfing the internet.

Stay informed while browsing the web! Inspector helps identify suspicious webpages and articles using machine learning and a professionally pre-compiled list of known sources that are labeled as the following: Trusted Fake Satire Biased Conspiracy Junk Science Hate Clickbait After clicking on the Inspector lock, the extension will process the article webpage and check to see if the link is on our compiled list of sources. If it is, then a new window will appear revealing the which class the webpage falls under. If not found, then Inspector will use a machine learning model to present a score from 0-1 for how trusted the article text is, and will present supplementary articles that may relate to the news article in question for you to reference. *Disclaimer* Please note that this extension is meant to be used as a guideline! At the end of the day it is up to your judgement to decide whether a news sources is trustworthy or not. Our pre-compiled list of known sources is mainly powered by OpenSources, a curated publicly available resource for assessing online information.
