Inspect Boss - Website Inspector: CSS, Fonts, Colors, SEO & Selectors
Overview
Inspect any live page in the Chrome side panel: CSS, colors, fonts, images, selectors, accessibility and SEO metadata.
Inspect Boss is a website inspector for Chrome that opens in the side panel and stays open while you browse. Click any element on a live page to see its CSS, colors, fonts, spacing, images, accessibility details and SEO metadata — without opening DevTools. Everything runs locally in your browser. No account, no sign-up, and no page data sent to a server. WHAT YOU CAN INSPECT Element and CSS inspector Pick any element to see its tag, classes, dimensions, HTML structure, matched CSS rules, computed styles, box model, and flexbox or grid layout. Move to a parent or sibling element without losing your place. Copy the CSS selector or XPath for the selected element. Colors Get the color palette of any website. Every HEX value in use, how many times it appears, where it is applied, and observed contrast pairings. Copy any value in one click and highlight every instance of a color on the page. Fonts and typography Find out what fonts a website uses. Font families, sizes, weights, line height and letter spacing for any text, with usage counts, instance navigation, and a readability review. Images, SVG and alt text Browse every rendered image, CSS background image, video poster and inline SVG on the page. Preview and download assets, and check which images are missing alt text or marked decorative. Accessibility checks Deterministic checks for text contrast, non-text contrast, form labels, heading order, landmarks, duplicate IDs, target size and accessible names. A fast first-pass review to catch obvious issues early. SEO metadata See the page title, meta description, canonical URL, heading structure from H1 to H6, image alt coverage, internal and external links, JSON-LD schema, Open Graph and Twitter card tags, and hreflang — all read from the rendered page in one place. Technology and CSS variables Detect front-end technologies used on the page and discover the CSS custom properties and design tokens declared in the stylesheet. Tools Compare two elements side by side. Preview CSS changes live without editing the site. Save an inspection to come back to. Capture a selected area. Export as JSON, CSS or Markdown. AI-ready exports Turn any inspection into a structured prompt you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any AI tool — design system context, a single element, or a page summary. You choose when to copy it and where to paste it. Inspect Boss does not send page data to any AI service. WHO IT IS FOR Designers Study type scales, color systems, spacing and component anatomy on live reference sites instead of guessing from a screenshot. Frontend developers Inspect computed layout, CSS evidence, assets and technology signals while building or debugging UI, without leaving the page you are working on. QA and testers Run design QA against the spec, grab stable selectors for test scripts, check contrast and alt text, and capture evidence for a bug report. SEO and content teams Check titles, meta descriptions, canonicals, headings, schema, social tags and hreflang on any page before it ships. Agencies, founders and marketers Turn informal browsing into structured discovery notes for client sites and competitor references. PRIVACY Inspect Boss reads the page you are currently looking at, in your browser, on demand. Live page elements stay in the page context and only bounded snapshots reach the side panel. It does not read form values, cookies, browser storage, tokens or messages. It does not send page content to any server or AI service. No account and no sign-up. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO Being clear about limits so you know what you are installing: - It does not crawl websites or follow links across pages. - It does not fetch server headers, robots.txt, sitemaps or raw server HTML. - It does not check keyword rankings or search positions. - It is not a full WCAG audit or an accessibility certification. - It cannot read closed Shadow DOM or cross-origin iframe content. - It reports what the page renders, not the original design file or brand tokens. REQUIREMENTS Chrome 141 or later. Works on any HTTP or HTTPS page.
