Insight Engine is a browser extension that streamlines issue reporting for QuickBooks Online users. Instead of struggling to describe technical problems through lengthy support tickets, users can capture exactly what went wrong — visually and technically — in a single click. What It Does When a user encounters an issue, they simply click "Start Recording" in the extension. Insight Engine simultaneously captures a screen recording and logs the underlying network activity happening in the browser. Users can optionally narrate the issue using their microphone and use built-in annotation tools to highlight specific areas of the screen where something looks wrong or behaves unexpectedly. Once the recording is complete, the user can review the captured data before submitting it. The extension offers two options: send the data directly to the support team, or download it locally for manual upload later. Permissions The extension requests only the permissions necessary for its functionality: -Access to the active tab to verify it is a supported page -Tab capture for screen recording -Microphone access for optional voice narration -Storage to persist recording state across sessions -Network request monitoring for API diagnostics -Download capability for local file saving Privacy and Security The extension only operates on supported QuickBooks Online pages. All data transmission is encrypted over HTTPS. No sensitive information is logged to the browser console. The extension does not collect or transmit data outside of an active recording session initiated by the user.
