Overview

Snooze tabs, keep notes and tasks per site. Saved as plain files on your own disk.

DotTabs gives every page one control panel for three things: snoozing the tab, keeping tasks for the site, and jotting notes. Everything is saved as plain files in a folder you choose, on your own disk. No account, no server, no sync service. Nothing phones anywhere. SNOOZE A TAB Send a tab away until later today, tonight, tomorrow, the weekend, next week, or a time you pick. The tab closes and reopens on its own, even if Chrome was closed or your computer was asleep when it was due. TASKS PER SITE Keep a running list of things to do on each site, each with an optional reminder and a switch to reopen the tab when it fires. A reminder shows a notification and flags the task as overdue in the panel, so nothing depends on a notification alone. NOTES Take notes on a page, or attach a note to a specific task, all saved as plain markdown files you can open in any editor. YOUR DATA, YOUR FILES You pick the folder on first run. Notes are markdown with readable frontmatter. Tasks are an append-only log, one line per event. Nothing is proprietary or locked to this extension: delete it and your files still work. Open the panel with Alt+S, the toolbar icon, or a right-click on the page or the icon. DotTabs 0.2.0 What's new: - New All tasks tab in the panel: every open task across every site, grouped into Overdue, Scheduled and No reminder, with the site each belongs to. Click a task to jump to its page. - Overdue tasks are counted on the tab, and the panel opens on that tab when anything is overdue. - When a reminder fires with the panel closed, DotTabs opens its All tasks list in a tab so the reminder is not lost when the notification disappears. One tab at most. Turn it off under Settings → Reminders. - Clicking a reminder notification now lands on the task list. - No new permissions. No new host access. DotTabs 0.3.0 What's new: - Option to save screenshot with notes and tasks. - Fixed: a reminder set to reopen its tab no longer also opens the All tasks list in a second tab
