Overview
Turn new tabs into an AI-organized workspace with topic cards, cited search, and local work insights. Bring your own AI key.
Infinite Tabs turns Chrome's new-tab page into a workspace for returning to the pages and topics that matter. Instead of another flat list of links, it organizes allowed pages into topic cards with concise summaries, relevant sources, and lifecycle controls. Search the workspace, ask a focused AI question with citations, or review an optional local dashboard of where foreground time went. What you can do - Group allowed HTTPS pages into bilingual topic cards automatically. - See a topic summary, key points, source pages, favicons, and paginated source lists without opening every tab again. - Search topic and page metadata locally. - Ask AI across the most relevant local topics and map citations back to source pages. - Pin, archive, restore, reorder, regroup, or delete topics and pages. - Use Chrome's default search engine, eligible recent HTTPS tabs, and frequent sites from the same start page. - Opt in to local Work insights for foreground-time, session, topic-trend, page, and page-type charts. - Use light/dark themes, bilingual English/Chinese content, keyboard navigation, and reduced-motion support. Current AI setup: BYOK only The current release requires a provider key that you obtain and control. It supports OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek through its OpenAI-compatible preset, and other trusted OpenAI-compatible endpoints configured by you. There is no Infinite Tabs hosted-AI service, subscription, checkout, or paid plan in this release. You can choose Set up later to keep cloud AI off. Clear processing controls Before eligible page content is read or stored, first run explains the data path and requires explicit consent. When BYOK is enabled, allowed page excerpts and AI-search context go directly to the provider or compatible endpoint you configure—not through an Infinite Tabs model proxy. Choose Conservative, Balanced, or Minimum filtering to control which built-in sensitive-site categories are excluded. Minimum filtering disables those built-in category exclusions and provides the broadest eligible HTTPS coverage. Incognito, non-HTTPS, and browser-internal pages are always excluded. Page query strings and fragments are omitted from enrichment prompts. Work insights are a separate opt-in. Their bounded daily aggregates and charts stay in the Chrome profile and are not sent to the AI provider. Local setup and interaction diagnostics are bounded, visible/exportable in Settings, and not uploaded. Three cleanup levels let you remove regenerable caches, reset the workspace while preserving explicit preferences, or fully reset extension-local data including the API key. Start-page and optional network behavior Start-page web search uses Chrome's search API so it respects your configured default search engine. Eligible recent HTTPS tabs and frequent sites are read from Chrome for the visible start page; manually removed shortcuts are remembered locally. Non-HTTPS and browser-internal tabs are not shown in the recent list. When an active workspace can show a sponsored recommendation, the extension can fetch a small schema-validated JSON feed. It does not send page content, workspace data, questions, diagnostics, or API keys in that request. Remote JSON is treated as data and never executed as code. Infinite Tabs does not sell browsing data, build personalized-ad profiles, or download executable remote code. Read the full Privacy Policy before enabling a provider.
