Overview

Open the current page in incognito mode with optional history and site-data cleanup.

Incognito Switch opens the page you are viewing in Chrome’s built-in incognito mode—without copying and pasting the URL. OPEN PRIVATELY IN THREE WAYS • Click the extension icon in the toolbar. • Right-click a page or link and choose the incognito option. • Press Alt+I on Windows or Linux, or Option+I on macOS. OPTIONAL CLEANUP BEFORE OPENING Choose exactly what happens before the private destination opens: • Close the original tab after the incognito tab opens successfully. • Remove visits for the exact page URL from Chrome history. • Clear cookies and local site storage for the current website. Every cleanup option is off by default. Incognito Switch performs only the actions you explicitly enable. FLEXIBLE OPENING BEHAVIOR • Reuse an existing incognito window to reduce clutter. • Open a new full-screen incognito window. • Use an optional floating webpage button. • Match your device with light, dark, or system appearance. • Use the interface in 52 supported languages. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account or sign-in. • No analytics, advertising, or fingerprinting. • No remote code. • No sale of browsing data. • No automatic sponsor requests. • All extension features are free. The active tab URL is used only to open the same destination in Chrome’s incognito mode. History access is used only when you choose to remove the exact URL. Browsing-data access is used only when you choose to clear data for the current website. Website access is requested only if you enable the optional floating button. Preferences remain in Chrome extension storage. IMPORTANT Incognito mode prevents Chrome from saving local browsing history, cookies, site data, and form entries after the private session ends, subject to Chrome’s behavior and settings. It does not make you anonymous and is not a VPN. Websites, your employer or school, and your internet service provider may still be able to observe activity. Downloads and bookmarks remain on your device. SETUP Chrome requires you to enable “Allow in Incognito” on the extension details page before an extension can create private windows. Incognito Switch provides a short setup guide after installation.
