Adds inclusive historical event types to Ancestry trees for African American, Indigenous, and Japanese American ancestry.
Inclusive Ancestry extends Ancestry's existing "Add fact or event" menu with events reflecting the experiences of enslaved and free African Americans, Indigenous Americans, and Japanese Americans, empowering genealogists and family historians to document neglected aspects of American history on their Ancestry.com family tree timeline. Event Types: Enslavement & Unfreedom -Slaveholder, Plantation Name, Manumission, Self-Emancipation, Bastardy Bond, Mandatory Apprenticeship, Forced Migration, Indentured Servitude, Freedom Suit Transactions (Enslaved Persons) -Sold, Collateralized, Bequeathed, Transferred to Slaveholder's Heirs, Auctioned, Gifted, Relinquishment Hiring Out / Rental -Rented (includes Lessor/Lessee fields) Free People of Color -Free People of Color Registration Indigenous Peoples -Tribal Enrollment Japanese American Internment -Japanese Internment (includes dropdown of all internment camps) Add Inclusive Ancestry to help you tell your ancestors' full story today. *Inclusive Ancestry is a third-party application that is not affiliated with, created by, or endorsed by Ancestry.
