Eye Comfort Reader

Overview
Make any site easier on your eyes: dark mode, blue light filter, clearer text, color overlays, read aloud and break reminders.
Eye Comfort Reader changes how any website looks so it's easier and more comfortable to read. Pick a quick setup for your eyes, or fine-tune every setting yourself. Changes apply instantly to all your open tabs. QUICK SETUPS Start from a setup made for your needs, then adjust it: • Eye strain (screen fatigue, dry eyes) • Light sensitivity (photophobia, migraine) • Night reading • Low vision • Astigmatism • Cataracts and glare • Macular degeneration • Dyslexia and visual stress • Red-blind, green-blind and blue-blind color correction COLORS AND LIGHT • Smart dark mode that keeps photos looking normal and leaves sites that are already dark alone • Soft dark, sepia, cream, yellow-on-black and high-contrast themes, or your own colors • Blue light filter • Tinted color overlays (yellow, peach, rose, lilac, blue, aqua, green, gray) for visual stress • Brightness, contrast, color strength, grayscale and image dimming • Night schedule: use color changes always, only when your system is in dark mode, or between set times TEXT • Larger page size • Very readable fonts: Atkinson Hyperlegible, OpenDyslexic, Verdana and Georgia • Line, letter and word spacing • Shorter lines and thicker text READING AIDS • Reading ruler that follows your mouse • Clear link underlines and focus outlines • Large mouse pointer • Stop animations and autoplaying videos • Read aloud: listen to the page or your selection instead of reading it EYE BREAKS • 20-20-20 reminders with a full-page 20-second "look away" countdown and simple eye exercises • Time away from your computer counts as a break MADE FOR YOUR SITES • Give any site its own settings, or turn the extension off for a site • Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+E (on/off everywhere), Alt+Shift+S (on/off for this site), Alt+Shift+R (read aloud) PRIVATE BY DESIGN Eye Comfort Reader doesn't collect, store or send any personal data. Your settings stay in your browser. Please note: these are comfort settings, not a medical treatment. See an eye doctor if your vision changes or your eyes hurt. Chrome doesn't allow extensions to change its own pages (chrome://), the Chrome Web Store or the built-in PDF viewer.
