Immersive Glow
Overview
Extend YouTube videos into a soft, blurred glow that fills the black bars and the page behind the player
Immersive Glow makes watching YouTube feel bigger. It takes the video you're watching, softly blurs it, and lets it spill beyond the frame, so the colors of the video wrap around you instead of stopping at a black border. FEATURES • Fill black bars: 4:3, ultrawide, and vertical videos no longer leave empty black space inside the player. The bars fill with a blurred extension of the picture. • Page backdrop: the page behind the player, including the top bar, glows in the video's current colors and changes as the scene changes. • Works on regular videos and Shorts • Text and buttons stay readable in both dark and light themes • Lightweight: the glow is drawn from a tiny copy of each frame, updates at most 24 times per second, and pauses when the video pauses • One switch turns everything on or off, and a second one turns the page backdrop on or off HOW TO USE 1. Install the extension and open any YouTube video or Short 2. The glow starts automatically 3. Click the Immersive Glow icon in the toolbar to turn the effect or the page backdrop on or off PRIVACY Immersive Glow does not collect, store, or send any data. Your two on/off settings are saved in Chrome's extension storage, and the video is processed only inside your browser. Immersive Glow is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
