Image Type Saver

Right-click any image and save it as PNG, JPG or WebP. Converts on your device. Works like the removed Save image as Type.

Save any image as PNG, JPG or WebP. Right-click an image, choose Save image as, pick a format. That is the whole workflow. Image Type Saver does the job of the Save image as Type extension that was removed from the Chrome Web Store in March 2026. It is a new, independent extension with its own code, not a copy and not affiliated with that extension or its developers. WHAT YOU GET (FREE) - Right-click any image, then Save image as: PNG, JPG or WebP. - Turn a WebP into a PNG or JPG in one click, for sites that only serve WebP. - Transparent images get a white background when saved as JPG. - Works on images from web addresses, data: images and in-page blob: images. PRO, $6 ONE-TIME - Save every sizeable image on the current tab in one click, up to 100 per run. Tiny icons and duplicates are skipped. - Choose JPG and WebP quality. - Shrink wide images to a maximum width. - Name files with {name}, {host}, {date} and {n}, including folders inside Downloads. PRIVATE AND LOW-PERMISSION - No site access at install. Chrome shows no "read all your data on all websites" warning when you add it. - Images are converted on your device. Nothing is uploaded. - If a site blocks other pages from reading its images, Chrome asks once, when you save such an image, whether to allow site access. You can decline. - No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no remote code. - The only network request is the Pro license check, made when you open the popup or settings page or use Save all. A plain right-click save never makes it. GOOD TO KNOW - Chrome lets extensions save only inside your Downloads folder. Pro file names can create subfolders there. - Animated images are saved as a single frame. - The Pro upgrade is handled by ExtensionPay.
